Speed bumps can be installed on either a residential street or in an alley. Speed bumps are an effective way to slow down traffic, making the street safer for all that use it.

The 49th Ward office does require a petition process in order to install speed bumps. After 70% of units on the affected street sign the petition, please return it to the office.

From there, we will work with the Chicago Department of Transportation in determining the feasibility of implementation and having them installed.
